Many brides spend months getting ready for their wedding, if not longer. They find the perfect dress, choose beautiful flowers, and maybe even take lessons for that first dance. But it’s important that you don’t forget about your skin and beauty routine until the last minute. There are things you can do to make sure you have beautiful skin and brows on your big day, and it’s not too early to start preparing.
12+ month to go:
Start growing your eyebrows out under the guidance of an esthetician. This is the perfect time to correct over-plucking and find the perfect brow shape to frame your face. This is also a great time to begin pampering yourself with monthly facials to improve your skin. Talk to your esthetician about your homecare routine so that you can work together to find a skincare regimen that works for you and your skin type. Start gathering pictures of hair and makeup looks that you love – it’s the perfect time to start that Pinterest board!
Six months to go:
Eyebrows should be close to perfect, so continue to maintain them with 4-8 week appointments. Talk with your esthetician about your homecare regimen to see if any tweaks need to be made. This is also the time for any advanced skin care treatments you may be considering, such as HydraFacials with Dermabuilder or Brightenol, Microcurrent, LED or Ultrasound treatments. Meet with makeup artists and hairstylists to find the right person to work with you for your big day.
Two months to go:
Continue your home regimen and maintenance of eyebrows. Do a trial run for hair and makeup. It’s best if you have your dress and veil with you for your trials to make sure the entire look goes together.
One month to go:
Maintain! This is not the time to experiment with new products, either at home or with your esthetician. If there are any reactions, it could take weeks to calm down and no one needs that extra stress! Avoid extra plucking of your eyebrows or picking at your skin.
Two weeks to go:
Make sure you’re taking care of yourself – eat well, drink plenty of water, and get some rest. Pamper yourself with a massage if you’re feeling stressed.
One week to go:
Do one last eyebrow shaping at least several days before your wedding to avoid any chance of redness. Consider getting a HydraFacial which will give your skin a beautiful glow for your big day.
Eat a healthy breakfast, get your hair and makeup done, and enjoy yourself. Everything should be in place to ensure that you look beautiful and have a wonderful time!
If you have less than 12 months to go before the wedding, it’s not too late to make some chances to your skincare and beauty routine. Schedule an appointment to discuss what will work best for you.
