Surviving Quarantine SkinCare Tips
COVID-19 has been a challenge for all of us. It’s rearranged our beauty routines, it’s changed our self-care, and it’s probably wreaked at least some havoc on your skin. Until things get back to normal, we wanted to share our tips for taking care of your skin during this pandemic.
1. WASH YOUR FACE
It’s so important to wash your face, even if you’re staying home. While many of us are forgoing makeup while we’re housebound, dirt and oil still collect on our faces, not to mention dead skin cells. Yuck! Dirty skin leads to clogged pores and irritation. Make sure you’re using the right cleanser, too. Using regular soap can be drying or irritating. Our estheticians can help you find a product that is ideal for your skin type.
2. USE SUNSCREEN
You should wear sunscreen every day, even if you’re only visiting your backyard. You should also wear sunscreen when stuck inside. UVA rays (which can cause skin cancer and premature aging) can penetrate through windows. So if you’ve been spending time with the perfect Zoom lighting from your living room window, you need to wear sunscreen.
3. STAY HYDRATED
While you may feel like doing a little more drinking from home these days, make sure that most of that hydration is coming from water. Alcohol can dry out skin and make lines and wrinkles more prominent. It also increases inflammation, leading to redness. Try to limit alcohol intake and drink water to help dilute it. While water alone won’t lead to perfectly hydrated skin, it’s a good start. Add in a powerful moisturizer, and you can lock in that dewy, healthy look!
4. WEAR A MASK
We’re all trying our best to stop the spread of COVID-19. One way to do that is to wear a mask whenever you’re in public or with other people. But having something against your skin for long periods can sometimes lead to more breakouts or irritation. Make sure you wash your mask or discard it after each use. We have some products that may help if you frequently wear a mask or notice skin problems when wearing one. Actrol Powder can reduce oil and make you feel fresh. Solar Damage Gel acts as a barrier to protect and soothe skin.
Staying home isn’t fun. But our spa is once again open to see clients, and we would love to see you! We can prescribe a beauty routine with the perfect products for you.
