Ultrasound Not Fillers

Five Reasons to Love Ultrasound Facials—and Never Bother with Fillers Again

With so many nonsurgical options promising younger-looking skin, it can be hard to separate the good from the bad and the downright ugly. Let us help you with that! Here, we explain how Ultrasound is one of the best noninvasive procedures for outsmarting the signs of aging—and why you’ll be swearing off fillers for good.

1. An Ultrasound facial gives your skin a lift in a totally natural way.
During the Ultrasound procedure, high-level sound waves penetrate deep beneath the skin’s surface, promoting cellular turnover, helping to increase circulation and muscle tone and encouraging lymphatic drainage and all-around toxins removal. The result? Your skin looks and feels energized, refreshed, more toned: Fine lines and wrinkles are plumped up and smoothed, under-eye puffiness is dramatically reduced, enlarged pores are refined and age spots are faded.

2. Ultrasound procedures have been shown to produce visible results after one treatment.
Achieving your best look typically takes a series of Ultrasound facials (usually six), with monthly follow-ups for maintenance. But since the effects are cumulative, you’ll continue to see improvement before your next visit and can expect long-term—and in some cases, even lasting—results. Oh, and there’s no downtime.

3. Ultrasound caters to more issues than aging skin.
Its rejuvenative sound-wave energy also helps clarify and treat acne and sun damage and diminish scars. And the procedure isn’t limited to your face, neck and décolletage. Ultrasound can be used on most parts of the body and has been shown to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

4. Ultrasound facials are gentle, causing no discomfort or unusual side effects.
The sound waves produced are both well above our audible frequency range and way too fast for our nerve endings to feel. All the intensive regenerative work is happening deep below the surface. The procedure is so safe and gentle, even those with sensitive skin or prone to Rosacea and couperose are good candidates for Ultrasound.

5. Ultrasound facials don’t come with sticker shock.
Typically sold by the series, Ultrasound has a cost of $330 for six 45- to 60-minute facials, with monthly maintenance treatments priced at $66 each. This totals less than $1,000 for a year of treatments ($990, to be exact), making Ultrasound an excellent choice for the cost-conscious consumer.

So, how do fillers compare? Cosmetic fillers have been a popular choice for smoothing wrinkles and scarring, plumping up fine lines, adding volume to sunken areas and filling out thinning lips. But they’re not without their dark side. For starters, you’re having a foreign material injected into your face—at multiple sites. And no amount of topical anesthetic can completely numb your skin; at best, it will minimize the pain of the repeated needle sticks. After treatment, expect redness, swelling, sometimes itching and for sure, marked discomfort, all of which can last for days. Less frequent but more serious symptoms include tiny bumps under the skin around injection sites, uneven results and sometimes infection. Even the best effects are temporary, lasting about six months, because the body eventually absorbs the “volumizers.” And then there’s the cost. According to the most recent statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the cost of fillers runs from $467 to $1,791 per vial. Multiply this by the number of vials needed and then double that figure for the cost per year.
